For the first 4 years, I had a growing swollen tummy, I tried gym and diet but never worked. I too experienced severe illnesses and didn't know they were caused by Fibroids.
One time I went for my usual annual checkup and the doctor asked that I get screened. It was at that moment that I learnt I had Uterine Fibroids. I knew very little about the disease and no idea what symptoms were or treatment options.
As many of us would do, I searched on Google but got very scanty information from various sites mainly in the USA & Europe. I had no access to reliable INFORMATION relating to a black women like myself or GYNECOLOGISTS to manage and treat my condition.
A year a go, a Medical Practitioner recommended a Gynecologist to me who has helped me manage and treat the Fibroids. During the same time I lost my childhood friend from Fibroids and at this moment I realized that Fibroids is a CRISIS no one is talking about and addressing.
My struggle with Fibroids and loss of my childhood friend inspired me to start Fibroids Center in 2022 to help WOMEN like myself have access to reliable information and gynecologists to treat Fibroids. Women also belong to a community where they can share their struggles with Fibroids, learn from each other and get their questions answered by Professionals.
